8 types of phrases are used in English sentences. The words used in the sentences belong to one of these phrases. The words in the sentence can belong to more than one phrase with various meanings and usage styles. Therefore, we cannot format words as belonging to a phrase. It would be wrong to give a name to this situation, which changes according to the situation and structure in the sentence. With its usage in a sentence, it belongs to a phrase. In other words, the important thing in English is the function of the phrase in the sentence. If we want to explain this situation with an example:

If we use the word fast in a sentence:

‘’The cat is running very fast.’’ The word fast here is used as an adverb in the word.

As another example:

‘’I like fast people.’’ In this sentence, the word fast is used as an adjective because it describes people.

Therefore, while learning a word in English, attention should be paid to learning its different meanings. It is very important to establish the word we want to use in the sentence with the right phrase. Thanks to the correct use of word types, the desired speech is completed successfully. Go, talk, do, stop, etc.

Such words are used as verbs. Their usage in a sentence is as follows:

These words are nouns. Examples will be given:

Adjective Examples
