Geometric Shapes

Geometric shapes are shaped that are ubiquitous in our daily life. By definition, the shapes that make up the figure structure of the objects are geometric shapes. It arises as a result of combining certain points with lines. As a result of these unions, there are certain angles between both lines. The number of points where geometric shapes meet and the number of lines that connect varies. In this case, the number of points, the number of lines, and the angle measurement resulting from them are different for each geometric shape. In addition, geometric shapes can be divided into symmetrical and asymmetrical, as well as 2D and 3D. In this article, we will examine the basic geometric shapes.

SQUARE: The square is formed by joining four different points equidistantly from each other. In this case, the length of the connecting lines is also equal to each other. The inner angle formed by the two lines joining is 90 degrees (a right angle). The square, which has 4 interior angles on 4 corners in total, has all interior angles of 90 degrees.

RECTANGLE: The rectangle, which has 4 corners, 4 points, 4 lines, and 4 right angles like a square, shows its difference from a square in only one case. While all the lines in the square are the same length as each other, the lines of the rectangle are 2 long equal and 2 short equal.

CIRCLE: The circle considered perfectly round does not have straight lines. In this case, there is no angle in it.

TRIANGLE: The geometric shape formed by combining 3 different points with lines is called a triangle. The connecting lines can be equal or different. In this case, the interior angles also vary, but the interior angles are 180 degrees in total. If the interior angles are positioned less than 90 degrees, this triangle is called an acute-angled triangle. If one of the interior angles in the triangle is more than 90 degrees, this triangle is called a wide-angle triangle. If all interior angles are equal, this triangle is called an equilateral triangle.

POLYGON: Polygons include all the remaining linear and angled shapes except the circle. It is a term that includes shapes with five or more corners.

PARALLELOGRAM: This geometric shape has lines extending in the same mutual direction and these opposite lines are equal to each other. Lines are extendable lines and even if they are extended, they never intersect.
